Holcim announces plans for the Board
Swiss cement giant Holcim Ltd has announced its proposals for election to the Board of Directors. Hanne Birgitte Breinbjerg Sørensen, CEO of Maersk Tankers, and Anne Wade, an investor with considerable experience in capital markets, have been proposed to join the Board, while Beat Hess, the Board’s current Deputy Chairman, has been proposed for re-election for a three-year term.
Markus Akermann and Peter Küpfer are no longer available for re-election and, as of the AGM in April, Christine Binswanger has resigned from the Board. Wolfgang Reitzle has been designated the new Chairman of the Board, but will not take on this role until 2014. In the meantime, Rolf Soiron is proposed for re-election to ensure continuity and an optimal transition for the incoming Chairman.
The AGM will take place on 17 April. Holcim wishes to thank the retiring Board members for their service.
