For sustainable entrepreneurship, Holcim Deutschland GmbH received gold status from the independent CSR rating platform EcoVadis in December 2021, making it part of the top 5% of all participating companies in the cement, lime and gypsum sector. After 2016 and 2019, Holcim achieved gold status in its third rating. This is awarded when companies have achieved an average score of 63 to 77 out of a possible 100 points.
EcoVadis assesses the sustainability performance of companies in four categories: Environment, Labour Practices, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement. Holcim Germany achieved above-average performance in all four areas. In the environmental area in particular, Holcim did particularly well with 90 out of 100 points.
Thorsten Hahn, CEO of Holcim Germany: “For us, the EcoVadis award is a great signal that we as a company are on the right track. At the same time, we are still a long way from the end. We will continuously improve our efforts and measures in the area of sustainability and work continuously to expand our sustainable products and solutions. At the same time, we have set ourselves ambitious goals – for example, to build Germany's first climate-neutral cement plant by 2027."
