Terex Construction has opened applications for its 2015 engineering internship programme. The student placement scheme is run in partnership with Harper Adams University and is open to three students who will each take a year-long engineering placement at the Terex manufacturing facility in Coventry.

The students will gain experience of factory operations management, equipment testing, new product R&D, among others. Each student will undergo a rigorous training programme, helping them to develop real-world engineering skills, as well as further supporting their academic studies.

At the end of the placement, each student will have experienced how consumer research and market insight is used to develop next-generation construction equipment. Interns who demonstrate exceptional dedication and drive may even be offered a full-time position with the company.

“As the construction sector continues to grow, building relationships with the UK’s leading academic institutions and inspiring the next generation of engineers is becoming a key priority,” said Neal Nowick, General Manager at Terex Coventry.

“Our internship programme with Harper Adams University not only provides exceptional experience for students studying the latest engineering courses, but also encourages graduates to consider a career in the construction equipment sector. Alongside the internship, we also present the ‘Terex Shield’ award to the university’s highest-achieving student studying on the off-highway engineering course. Rewarding innovation and academic excellence, we hope this award will further inspire students to excel academically and push the boundaries of engineering capabilities.”

More information about the programme is available by contacting Chris Towill at Terex Construction on 02476 339400 or email Chris.Towill@terex.com.
