FLSmidth announces latest financial results

FLSmidth has released its Interim Report for 1 January – 30 September 2012. In the first nine months of the year, revenue increased by 23% y/y to reach more than DKK16.8 billion, with order intake rising by 19%. EBITDA rose by 16%, with profits declining by 3% to DKK841 million.

In 3Q12, order intake grew by 11% and revenue by 23%. EBITDA increased from DKK669 million in 3Q11 to DKK709 million this year. However, profit for the period fell by 6% to DKK377 million.

In terms of this year’s outlook, FLSmidth expects a revenue for continuing activities of DKK25 – 26 billion. EBITA margin guidance is 10%, while EBIT margin guidance is clarified to 8%.

FLSmidth will also be renaming its Non-Ferrous and Bulk Materials Divisions. The Non-Ferrous Division will be known as Mineral Processing to reflect the inclusion of Ludowici mineral processing products for bulk materials. The Bulk Materials Division will be renamed Material Handling. The change will become effective from 1 December 2012 and all business activities will remain the same.
