Robilante plant celebrates 50th anniversary

World Cement,

Buzzi Unicem’s Robilante cement plant has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a day of celebrations for all those who work or have worked for and with the company. The special day was held on 19 September 2015 and began with the lighting of a blue and garnet-coloured flame, to commemorate both Buzzi Unicem and its predecessor PRESA cements, the company where Buzzi Unicem’s Chairman Enrico Buzzi and Honorary Chairman, Sandro Buzzi, worked as young engineers.

Speeches remembered colleagues and former colleagues, always keeping in mind that this important milestone could not have been reached without the dedication and sacrifice of the employees. More than 670 current and former employees and family members attended the event, together with the Mayor of Robilante, Massimo Burzi, and other high profile delegates.

In the afternoon, the company organised guided tours of the plant and entertainment for the children.

The 50 years of Robilante marks an important moment in the history of Buzzi Unicem and for the community that has grown alongside the plant from 1965 to today.
