The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kiel has awarded the Lägerdorf cement plant the title of ‘top training company.’ The plant is owned by Holcim (Germany) GmbH, which was praised for its special training commitment by Peter Krohn, Member of the Chamber of Commerce Assembly.
The Holcim Germany Group operates in Germany and the Netherlands and produces cement, aggregates, ready mixed concrete, and precast concrete elements. In the areas of electronics, technicians for industrial engineering, industrial mechanics, industrial clerks, and machine and plant operators, there are currently around 40 young people undergoing training at the Lägerdorf plant.
“This award honours companies that train in exemplary quality, give young people a chance, and have a convincing concept of skilled worker recruitment and personal development,” said Krohn.
“We are delighted that the excellent training work of our trainers and the achievements of our trainees have been rewarded with this award,” said Wolfgang Kock, Head of HR for the North Region for the Holcim Germany Group. “Through cooperating with schools in the region, we make contact with potential trainees very early on.”
