World Cement,
Eurocement Group’s Voronezh plant has been awarded the certificate ‘EcoMaterial Basic’, which is an environmental standard for building materials. At the ceremony, Eurocement’s Jaroslav Stoupa said that Eurocement was changing the general view that cement has a negative impact on the environment by carrying out major investments in its cement production facilities, to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. By 2020, all Eurocement facilities will be operating the dry process.
The EcoMaterial rating is a voluntary environmental standard developed based on the recommendations of international green building standards organisations such as DGNB, BREEAM and LEED.
