Menzel holds practice day for students interested in motor production
Menzel Elektromotoren GmbH held a practice day for secondary school students who are interested in becoming electronic technicians for machines and drive technology. Over 30 pupils from three Berlin schools attended the event, which included a company presentation, an interview with a former Menzel trainee, practical lessons and a quiz. In addition, the students were treated to a guided tour of the company’s production facilities and had the opportunity to take part in a motor workshop. Following the success of the event, Menzel has decided to make it a yearly occurrence in the hope of raising interest in careers in motor production while explaining the requirements involved.
“With this offer, we would like to attract technically gifted students as trainees. We offer two or three trainee positions and several internships every year”, explained CEO Kurt Menzel. “The practice day offers better, more in-depth insights into our production than any booth at a job training fair. We can thus provide young people with a good grasp of what working in a medium-sized, family-owned company entails, and offer them some vocational guidance.”
