Skangas bunkers cement carrier

Skangas has announced it has bunkered the MV Greenland in Westport Stavanger for the first time, with LNG from Skangas. This was done by a truck to ship delivery.

M.V. Greenland is a cement carrier, which was built in 2015. It is operated by KGJ Cement. The vessel is the first dry cargo vessel ever with an LNG fuelled propulsion system, in which a pressurized LNG tank is incorporated inside the hull. It is powered by a Wärtsila dual-fuel machinery.

This vessel is another environmental friendly vessel that has come into operation. When operating on natural gas M.V. Greenland will comply with the most stringent emission criteria and it will meet potential future environmental limitations.

M.V. Greenland is to be followed by a sister vessel, also powered by LNG. This vessel is expected to be delivered during May 2016.
