World Cement,
The Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) recently expanded the CSC certification family for concrete and introduced the new CO2 module to improve transparency around greenhouse gas emissions associated with concrete production.
By enabling concrete suppliers to express their concrete CO2 reduction through a dedicated CSC-module, the CSC takes steps towards climate neutrality in the concrete industry. The CSC CO2 module is available for concrete plants that are CSC certified at the level Silver or higher.
“As one of the first concrete producers, we have taken the opportunity to undergo CSC CO2-module certification. The successful certification of sixteen of our concrete plants throughout Germany clearly underlines our sustainability efforts”, explains Dr. Frank Huber, General Manager at Heidelberger Beton GmbH. “CSC CO2-module certification is indeed very useful to explain our CO2 reduction efforts in concrete in a transparent and comprehensive manner as part of our dialogue with customers and other stakeholders.”
