Marius Kloppers joins board of FLSmidth

It has been announced that the former CEO of the world’s largest mining company BHP Billiton, Marius Kloppers, has joined as a board member of FLSmidth.

At FLSmidth, Marius will contribute his ten-year experience in the global mining industry to the company’s expertise in serving the minerals and cement industries globally. In an interview with Make Sense TV, Marius explains why he decided to invest his time with FLSmidth and his outlook for the mining industry’s attempts at recovery from the economic slump of the last few years. He predicts that the much-needed efficiency gains can only be achieved by heavily increasing its spending on service agreements and equipment with performance guarantees. This provides FLSmidth with a unique opportunity to aid global mining companies adjust to the ‘new normal’ market for global mining.
