The modern cement plant Ferzikovo, in the Kaluga region of Russia, has a production capacity of 5000 tpd of cement clinker. The new plant, built on a compact area of approximately 430 000 m², was completed in July 2015. Lafarge has been active in Russia since 1996, developing two lines: cement and non-metallic materials as well as concrete.
The new Ferzikovo cement plant is a dry-line cement plant, meaning 2.5 times less energy consumption compared to conventional production technology. Raw material transportation from the bank to the plant is provided through a closed belt conveyor of 5500 m length over the Oka river. There are 88 high technology industrial facilities on the territory. All production lines are automated. An alternative fuel section will provide partial substitution of natural gas for alternative energy sources.
Tebodin’s project team executed the basic design, tender package, and adaption of the detailed design for the construction phase, technical client services, and construction. About 50 employees from Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Ekaterinburg, Kiev, and Lviv offices were involved into the project.
