Completion of Tarmac Building Products sale announced
Anglo American plc has announced the completion of its sale of Tarmac Building Products Ltd (TBP) to Lafarge Tarmac after gaining regulatory approval. TBP supplies heavy building products, such as bagged aggregates and cement products, as well as construction blocks. Anglo American officially declared its plans to sell TBP to Lafarge Tarmac in November 2013. Lafarge Tarmac is a 50:50 joint venture between Lafarge and Anglo American’s construction operations in the UK.
At the time of the announcement in November, Lafarge Tarmac CEO Cyrille Ragoucy commented: “TBP offers a close fit with our existing business, which will add value for us and our customers, while also securing TBP’s long-term future. The deal will also open up new opportunities for Lafarge Tarmac particularly in the house-building sector.”
