Increase in cement production at Eurocement’s Nevyanskiy Cementnik

Nevyanskiy Cementnik, a Russian subsidiary of the Eurocement Group, reported steady production growth for March 2014 compared to the same period a year earlier. Nevyanskiy Cementnik is one of the largest cement producers in the Sverdlovsk region, Russia, and is well established in the Ural, Siberian and Volga federal districts. The company has a cement production capacity of approximately 1.2 million tpa and produces cement using the dry process.

During the month the company produced 88 046 t of clinker and 97 067 t of cement, representing a 19% y/y (14 029 t) and 14% y/y (11 890 t) increase, respectively, compared to March 2013. Furthermore, limestone production reached 122 131 t in March 2014, a 26% y/y rise compared to the volume achieved in the same period a year earlier.

The manufacture of cement type CEM II / A 32.5 N accounted for more than half of total cement production. In March 2014, the company produced 54 452 t of CEM II / A 32.5 N cement, 6% (2860 t) more than in March 2013. Furthermore, the company witnessed growth in demand for high-quality cement type CEM I 42,5 H. In March 2014 Nevyanskiy Cementnik produced 42 215 t of CEM I 42,5 H cement, a 28% y/y (9239 t) increase compared to the same period a year earlier.

During the reporting period the company shipped 97 880 t of cement to its customers, exceeding the figure recorded in March 2013 by 17% (14 359 t). Shipments of bagged cement totalled 14 830 t, a 46% y/y (4704 t) rise compared to March 2013. Cement types CEM II / A 32.5 N and CEM II / B 32.5 H are shipped in 50 kg bags and cement types CEM I 42,5 N and CEM II / A-32 W 5H are packaged in large 1000 kg bags.
