World Cement,
Key decision factors included the FCB TSV™ Classifier THF's enhanced performance and the necessity to perform this project within a challenging schedule.
FCB TSV Classifier for cement grinding mill upgrade
EQIOM was planning to upgrade its cement grinding plant with the installation of a latest generation classifier, aiming at improving separation performances to produce cement at a higher fineness with lower energy consumption levels. The projects ultimate goal is to reduce the clinker factor of the cement and its CO2 footprint.
A very high efficiency dynamic classifier for a lower clinker factor
The project involves the integration of an FCB TSV 4000 THF Classifier and an FCB TGT® Filter connected with the existing circuit.
Implementation of the FCB TSV THF Classifier in the cement grinding plant will allow for:
- A reduced clinker factor thanks to improved separation performances, and a better control of both fineness and particle size distribution.
- An improved quality of cements produced.
- The possibility of producing cements at higher fineness.
- A reduced energy consumption, by improving workshop efficiency and increasing production.
Project management
EQIOM has also chosen Fives FCB for its ability to manage turnkey projects: the contract includes not only the design and supply of efficient proprietary equipment, but encompass civil and steel structure design, steel structure supply as well as steel structure and mechanical erection, and commissioning. Needless to say, close collaboration and reactivity are key to successfully complete the tie-in during the annual mill shutdown early 2025 and commissioning.
