The Eurocement Group holding has delivered cement for the construction of a road in the village of Teploye, Lipetsk region, using a soil stabilisation technology with mineral binders. The project was implemented by the Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works, the flagship company of the NLMK Group. Such a road will not require repair for at least three years and the cost of its construction was three times less than asphalt concrete.
Innovative technology was used to repair the central road in the village of Teplo, which is about a kilometer long and covers an area of 4000 m2. Previously, the technology was applied in the construction of 6000 m2 of flooring for the logistics centre of the NLMK-Kaluga plant.
First, using special equipment, the existing soil is mixed with mineral binders. A special reagent gives strength and ductility to the road surface. The canvas is sealed with pneumatic rollers and, as a result, the road receives a solid surface with high bearing capacity.
“The holding supports the widespread use of soil strengthening technology using mineral binders in road construction,” said Ilya Kosykh, Vice President of Sales. “Cement and other binders will ensure the necessary bearing capacity of the pavement foundations and minimise costs, deadlines, and the need for inert materials.”
