Tarmac supports local lifeboat

Tarmac’s Dunbar Cement Plant supported Dunbar Lifeboat’s Annual Gala, which was held at the lifeboat station in July.

The plant pledged £800 to sponsor the main stage, which provided a focal point throughout the event by featuring the Crowning Ceremony, the Strictly Dance Exhibitions and all of the live music.

Allan Ruxton, Plant Manager at Tarmac’s Dunbar Cement Plant, said “We were delighted to again be able to contribute towards the running costs for what is one of the highlights of the calendar here in Dunbar. As one of the town’s major employers, we are pleased to be able to put back into the local community and support the great work of the RNLI in saving and protecting lives at sea.”

Veronica Davies, fundraiser for Dunbar Lifeboat, said: “We are very grateful for the support of local businesses like Tarmac. The Annual Gala brings people together to find out more about the lifeboat service and have fun at the same time. Without donations from local businesses, we would not be able to hold a community event on this scale. This year’s event was bigger and better than ever attracting and the main stage was a really big attraction for many people.”
