Charles Egbu to be appointed CIOB Vice-President

Professor Egbu, Dean of London South Bank University's (LSBU)’s School of The Built Environment and Architecture, is to take up the post of CIOB Vice-President from 11 July.

Professor Charles Egbu, Dean of the School of The Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University (LSBU) has been appointed Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)’s Board of Trustees, effective 11 July.

The CIOB is the world's largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. Its Royal Charter promotes the science and practice of building and construction for the benefit of society. Its board of trustees develop the work of the CIOB, spreading its influence and raising standards and awareness of issues in the wider construction industry.

Since joining LSBU in 2014, Prof. Egbu has overseen the research, teaching and enterprise activity of the School of The Built Environment and Architecture, a leading provider of built environment education and the largest building school in the UK.

Speaking about his appointment, Prof. Egbu said: “The School of The Built Environment and Architecture prides itself on its strong links with industry. Organisations like the CIOB play a crucial role in upholding the highest levels of competence and professionalism in the sector. I am looking forward to playing a key role in the future of this organisation and in turn bringing the expertise and knowledge of the CIOB into the School of The Built Environment and Architecture at LSBU.”
