Cementir Italia’s acquisition approved

World Cement,
On 7 March 2016, the Italian Antitrust Authority published its decision not to carry out an investigation into the purchase transaction of Sacci Spa’s business division for the production of cement and ready-mixed concrete. It has therefore authorised Cementir Holding’s subsidiary, Cementir Italia, to proceed with the acquisition.
It is noted that Sacci's composition with creditors will be submitted to the vote of the creditors at the hearing set today by the Court for 14 March 2016. If the vote by Sacci's creditors is favourable to the composition, it will then be subject to endorsement by the Court of Rome.
