Rohrdorfer Transportbeton supplies concrete for logistics centre

The construction company Bodner BaugesmbH & Co KG from Kufstein commissioned RTB with the delivery of concrete for twelve planned monolithic floor slabs. In the course of this major order, Rohrdorfer Transportbeton, is delivering around 22 000 m³ of concrete for the logistics centre of SPAR Österreichische Warenhandels AG in Wels. This year the existing logistics centre will be enlarged by a further expansion stage.

The first deliveries of concrete took place in July and the first concreting work has begun. Because of the hot weather, it was decided to use a dual strategy when placing the concrete. The concrete was poured with two pumps – a 47– and a 42-meter pump – at two different points at the same time.

This procedure was necessary in order to obtain uniform stiffening of the young concrete for the smoothing process at high temperatures. In this way, it was possible to start smoothing the monolithic floor slab with the wings in the late morning. The completion of the shell is planned for August 2021.
