World Cement,
A new market report from Research and Markets indicates that the future of the calcium carbonate industry is positive, and is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 5.7% by value between 2015 and 2020. The major driver behind this is an increase in paper demand from the packaging and printing market, where calcium carbonate is used as filler in paper, plastic, coating, rubber, adhesive and sealant.
Asia Pacific is expected to remain the largest market, although North America and Europe are expected to witness a good growth over the forecast period.
Emerging trends impacting the industry include growing consumption of nano-precipitated calcium carbonate, and the emergence of green applications.
