Senior management changes at British Safety Council

Neal Stone, previously the Policy and Communications Director at the British Safety Council, has been appointed Acting Chief Executive. Joscelyne Shaw, previously Head of Policy and Influencing, has been appointed Acting Policy and Communications Director.

British Safety Council Chair of Trustees, Lynda Armstrong, said: “I am pleased to welcome Neal to this post. His extensive knowledge and experience concerning the regulation and management of health and safety and his strong relationship with our member organisations will stand him in good stead in his role as Acting Chief Executive.

“We thank the previous Chief Executive Alex Botha for his contribution to the organisation. The Trustees, staff and I wish him success for his future endeavours where I am sure he will make a real impact.”

On his appointment Neal said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Acting Chief Executive and am looking forward to working with the Trustees and colleagues at the British Safety Council to promote the benefits of effective health, safety and environmental regulation and management. 

“I am passionate about the importance that the effective management of health and safety can play in preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health. Our members are our strength and are key to shaping our work to influence health, safety and environmental thinking and policy and to ensure our products and services assist them in successfully managing key workplace risks.”

On her appointment Joscelyne said: “I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue to work with our members and colleagues at the British Safety Council and broaden our engagement in health, safety and environmental management. We offer our members the platform to gather insight and understanding into key developments, and will continue to strive to ensure their views are more widely heard and make a difference in terms of managing every worker’s health and safety.”

These changes came into effect on 22 December 2014.
