Wincanton awarded distribution contract
Cemex UK has awarded a 3-year national distribution contract to Wincanton, the supply chain specialist.
Wincanton already partners with Cemex on the delivery of building products and packed aggregates. With this new contract, Wincanton takes on the planning and transport of bagged cement to construction sites, retailers and wholesalers across the UK from Cemex’s plant in Rugby, Warwickshire. It is anticipated that this will comprise some 15 000 loads per year, utilising Cemex-branded vehicles.
Craig Williamson, Cemex's director of supply chain and logistics, said: "For many years Wincanton has provided us with an excellent service on our building products and packed aggregates and we have no doubts about its capabilities to replicate that success with our bagged materials and ensure that we continue to meet our customer service promise."
