New training programmes for Lipetskcement employees in 2013

In 2013, Lipetskcement, a company of Eurocement Group, ran preparatory programmes, retraining and qualification courses for 246 employees. Out of those that took part, 150 workers underwent training in dedicated training centres and technical schools, 7 corporate employees raised their qualifications after studying at training centres in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Belgorod and two of the trainees were recent graduates.

Training for Lipetskcement employees was conducted at the company’s holding in November – December 2013. Four officers were sent to train at Oskolcement in November and in December, two workers developed new skills at Maltsovsky Portlandcement and one at Belgorodskiy cement.

The company paid particular attention to the professional development of recent graduates, helping to raise their qualifications and introducing them to research and technology and innovation activities. Experienced workers act as mentors for graduate employees at each holding facility and advisory boards work with the new members of staff and organise their individual training and development programmes (including training, lectures and workshops). Furthermore, the company arrange annual plant-internal research and technology conferences. In 2013, 16 young Lipetskcement employees took part in the Personal Effectiveness and Effective Business Presentations workshops. Four of these are continuing their training on electrical power, electrical engineering and the chemical technology of cement at the Shukhov BSTU facilities.

The company also conducts training and innovation programmes at the Corporate University, located at the Podgorensky plant in the Voronezh Region, Russia. The university campus is open all year round for the practical and theoretical training of holding specialists of different professions. Teachers at the university include specialists from the Eurocement Group. The chief executive officers and chief technology officers of Eurocement’s 16 cement plants in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan all took part in the university’s first training programme.

Lipetskcement JSC has a cement production capacity of over 2 million tpa. The company experienced growth in the production and shipments of cement in the first ten months of 2013. During this period, total cement production amounted to 1.24 million t, an increase of 25 % y/y, and customers were shipped 1.27 million t of cement, a 26.2% increase y/y.
