World Cement,
Between the end of 2014 and June 2015, Menzel Elektromotoren have engineered and delivered six new motors for a North-African cement plant.
The seventh motor will be delivered by August 2015. All of the motors are replacements for legacy drives in the plant, the largest of which is a 6-pole size 800 slip-ring motor with 4800 kW rated power, 11 000 V rated voltage and a speed of 992 min-1.
The new motor needed to feature completely identical rotor data as the customer wanted to keep the old starter for this motor. Furthermore, the customer requested a hydrostatic bearing for the motor.
Menzel delivered all the motors on time in 2014. The customer has subsequently ordered a further six motors with varying specifications.
