Milestone for Lokotrack sales in Germany

The five-hundredth Metso Lokotrack to be sold in Germany was delivered during this year’s Steinexpo, the four-day tradeshow held at Europe’s largest basalt quarry in Homberg/Nieder-Ofleiden, Germany. The LT120 jaw crusher was sold to Andres Erdarbeitern GmbH, a family-owned crushing, screening, and recycling contractor.
The delivery of the machine marks over three decades of the Lokotrack in Germany. The first machines – a tracked LT100 haw and LT1100 cone plant – were purchased by German company, ABAG in the late 1980s, and are still running today.
“Metso’s German customers were interested in the mobile, track-mounted Lokotrack crushing plant concept right away, after the commercial production started in the Tampere works, Finland, in 1985,” said Hugo van Bentham, Metso’ Distribution Manager in Germany.
Today, Lokotracks are used in a wide variety of applications in Germany, Joachim Höft, Metso’ Sales Manager in Germany, explained: “from light, easy-to-transport contracting and recycling plants to sturdy, high-capacity mobile quarry crushers.”
