The World Cement Association (WCA) has announced that it has further expanded its international network of members by welcoming KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD) as an associate member. KHD is a leader in cement plant technology and equipment.
With its range of Clean Technology solutions, the WCA has noted that KHD drives innovation in energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly products for the grinding and pyroprocessing sections of cement plants.
The technology-focused group has been a technical leader for many years, with innovations from the world’s first preheater tower to energy-efficient grinding systems. It is an industry leader in calcining technology with low NOX burners and calciners with the ability to use a wide range of alternative fuels.
“In a globalised world, we can only tackle the big challenges facing the cement industry, like climate change, together, so it is great to be working alongside an organisation as respected as KHD,” said Vincent Lefebvre, Chairman of the World Cement Association. “We are delighted to welcome KHD to our membership and look forward to its expert contribution to the work of our Technology and Innovation professional committee.”
“The potential for environmentally-friendly technologies in the cement industry is huge, and we are always looking to enhance our thinking, share expertise, and collaborate with others, which is why we are so pleased to be joining the WCA, a leading international cement association active in promoting clean technology,” said Mario Zhu, CEO of KHD.
