New products and technology acquisitions add to FLSmidth’s bulk handling portfolio

World Cement,

Today – 02 October 2012 – FLSmidth continued its recent flurry of purchasing activity with the acquisition of various market-leading technologies and products pertaining to the unmanned operation and process optimisation of stackers/reclaimers and train loading systems from the German company iSAM AG.

The newly obtained technologies and products will enable the company to supply complete, unmanned integrated bulk handling solutions to mining, stockyard and port facility customers.

Application of unmanned operation will support FLSmidth's customers' continued focus on higher efficiency, improved safety and maintenance, higher yield and cost savings.

The technologies and products will be seamlessly integrated into FLSmidth's operations in close coordination with iSAM AG to ensure an uninterrupted service to its markets.

Group CEO, Jørgen Huno Rasmussen said, "These well-proven technologies can be used worldwide within Bulk Materials and will strengthen FLSmidth's offerings to its customers. The trend is moving towards unmanned operation and the technology can be easily integrated with FLSmidth's current business."

This latest acquisition lends yet more strength to the Group’s ‘One Source’ strategy, showing that it is really playing a part in shaping the company’s future. This latest development comes hot on the heels of the expansion of FLSmidth MAAG Gear’s production facilities, the expansion of the group’s service footprint in both Europe and Australia and the acquisition of American company, Process Engineering Resources Inc.
