Lithuanian stevedoring company, Bega, has awarded a contract to Claudius Peters for the supply of cement storage and discharge equipment. Bego operates at Klaipeda port and specializes in the handling of dry bulk materials.
Claudius Peters will deliver equipment for railcar unloading, a CC-type storage silo with a capacity of 3600 t of cement, and a pneumatic shiploader.
The silo will be equipped with a fluidisation system for the silo bottom, and have a diameter of 21.5 m and height of 27 m. Railcar loading and pneumatic shiploading will have a designed capacity of 200 tph.
Pneumatic conveying for the shiploader will be carried out by a size 350 Claudius Peters’ X-pump, which will carry the cement a distance of 148 m.
Commissioning is scheduled for September 2017. A second silo will be built during phase two of the project in 2018, doubling capacity at the terminal.
