Belarusian cement rail wagons to be delivered to Russia and Kazakhstan
According to the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, Belarus-based Mogilev Railway Car Building Plant has won a US$82 million contract to supply freight rolling stock to Russia. The scope of supply comprises 1400 hopper cars for the transportation of cement as well as 60 open box cars.
Earlier this year, OAO Promagroleasing and Eximgarant of Belarus finalised a leasing contract for Mogilev to deliver hopper cars for bulk cement transportation to Kazakhstan. Once all of the cement carriers have been delivered, Mogilev will begin to fulfil the Russian contract.
In a recent meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Nigmatzhan Isingarin – President of the Association of National Forwarding Agencies of Kazakhstan, President of the Kazakhstani Association of Freight Carriers and Wagon (Container) Operators – confirmed that the supply of cement railcars to Kazakhstan was progressing well. He also indicated that Kazakhstan is interested in purchasing a further batch of Mogilev rail wagons for the transportation of cement.
