Cementos Molins has completed the procedures for the acquisition of a white cement facility from the Çimsa group, thereby reinforcing its presence in Spain. It is a white cement unloading and dispatch terminal located in the port of Alicante, with a silo and storage capacity of 10 000 t, which will allow Cementos Molins to supply a volume of white cement of more than 50 000 tpy. The transaction includes Çimsa's goodwill.
With this new acquisition, Cementos Molins expands the range of products and services it offers to satisfy the needs of its customers in Spain, where it has 1300 employees. White cement offers great aesthetic and artistic possibilities for applications in works with a singular presence in the urban landscape.
In parallel, the operation will help consolidate the white cement export market of its subsidiary in Tunisia, where Cementos Molins has an annual production capacity of 700 000 t of white cement that it distributes to more than 15 countries.
“With this new operation, we incorporated white cement into the integrated business model of Cementos Molins in Spain, with a wide range of Portland cement, aggregates, concrete, mortars, precast, calcium aluminate cement, urban setting and waste recovery, and we strengthen our position as a provider of construction materials and solutions," explains Julio Rodríguez, CEO of Cementos Molins.
