Zuari Cement breaks ground on new grinding plant

Zuari Cement has held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new 1 million tpa cement grinding unit in Soluapur District. The plant is scheduled to be operational by 2Q15 and orders for the main equipment have already been placed. Once operational, the new grinding unit will cater to Zuari Cement’s market expansion plans in the southern and western regions of Maharashtra. The company currently has a total cement manufacturing capacity of 6.2 million t, including two manufacturing units in Sitapuram and Yerraguntla and a grinding plant in Chennai.
Zuari Cement is developing a 3 million tpa cement plant in North Karnataka and has plans to strengthen its market share in the Maharashta, Orissa, West Bengal and North East markets. The company is part of the Italcementi Group.
