China’s cement and cement clinker exports see increase

The figures released yesterday by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology state that in the first quarter of 2010, cement and cement clinker exports were estimated at 4.28 million t, an increase of 28% on 2009’s figures. The total export value was US$ 178 million, an increase of 17% on last year’s figures.

Cement clinker exports were estimated at 2.3 million t, showing an increase of 19.4%. The total value of clinker exports also rose 14%, to a total of US$ 68 million.

Cement exports totaled 2.25 million t, an increase of 21.7% over last years figures. The cement exports value also rose by 18.9%, to US$ 111 million.

However, the rise in exports seen over the last three months is still small compared to the 7.8 million t of cement and cement clinker, which were exported in the first three months of 2008.
