CNBM at the Exhibition for Lancang-Mekong Cooperation

The Exhibition for Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, which was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NDRC and CCPIT, was held in Sanya of Hainan Province on 23 March. The event aimed to present advantageous capacity and the most advanced technologies and machineries in China. As the sole building materials industry enterprise invited to the Exhibition, CNBM displayed its world-leading products and technologies in electronic ultra-thin glass, carbon fiber, glass fiber and refractory materials, etc.

When the 1st Lanceng-Mekong Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting was held, the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ochan, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Lao Prime Minister Thongsing THAMMAVONG, Myanmar Vice President Sai Mauk Kham and Vietnam Vice Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh visited the Exhibition. They also went to the booth of CNBM to learn about the enterprise.

When visiting CNBM’s booth, Premier Li Keqiang was particularly interested in the 0.2 mm electronic ultra-thin glass independently developed by CNBM and inquired about the performance, application, technologies and R&D of the ultra-thin glass. CNBM Chairman Song Zhiping gave a detailed introduction for the Primier and explained that the Group attaches great importance to IPR protection. It adopts the development pattern of integrated innovation and catches up with world-leading technologies, establishing the new milestone in the Chinese history of glass industry development. Nowadays, electronic ultra-thin glass is put into production in Bengbu city.

Premier Li Keqiang praised CNBM for its work in industrial transformation, hoping the Group can make full use of advantages in the industry, enhance technical innovations and industrial upgrading, strengthen cooperation with the 5 countries along Lancang-Mekong and play the leading role in the Belt & Road Initiative and international capacity cooperation. Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Gao Hucheng, Minister of Commerce also gave their ideas on the work of CNBM in boosting Belt & Road Initiative and international capacity cooperation.

Song Zhiping also explained to the 6 national leaders, including Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, about the results of capacity cooperation made by CNBM in the 5 countries along Lancang-Mekong, and plans of CNBM in these countries. In the past few years, the Group has established large cement production lines, the float glass production lines, solar power plants and modular production lines in the 5 countries. Additionally, a new-type housing project is also under way. He said CNBM will follow instructions of the State Council and Premier Li Keqiang to enhance investment based on current cooperation with the 5 countries, push forward transfer of advantageous capacity and conduct holistic cooperation in various forms. In addition to the traditional industries such as cement, glass and plasterboard, it will also promote local production and use of new-type houses, new energies and new materials so as to support economic growth in the 5 countries, realise mutual benefits and win-win situation, and make greater contributions to local economy and social development.

Also present at the Exhibition were CNBM Vice President Huang Anzhong, China National Building Materials Company Limited Vice President & Triumph Group President Peng Shou, and Assistant to CNBM President & GM of International Cooperation Department Wei Feng.
