Dalmia’s Ariyalur plant receives FICCI Safety Award

Dalmia Cement’s Ariyalur plant in Tamil Nadu, India, has been awarded the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) 'Safety Systems Excellence Awards 2014 for the Manufacturing Sector'. Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, presented the award to Mahendra Singhi, Group CEO Cement, DCBL. Dalmia Cement received first prize in the large scale manufacturing units category.
"It is a moment of pride for us at Dalmia Cement to receive the FICCI Safety Award for our Ariyalur unit second time in a row," said Mahendra Singhi. "This award reiterates our conscious efforts in providing outstanding safety systems across our manufacturing units and our continued commitment towards our employees."
Dalmia Cement was judged alongside 28 other companies that participated in the evaluation. The selection was based on a three-stage process that involved application evaluation, an onsite audit and final selection by the jury.
