Cemex named Employer of the Year in the Philippines
Cemex’s APO cement plant in the Philippines has been recognised for human resource excellence. The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) honoured Cemex with the 2014 Employer of the Year Award at the 38th PMAP Awards Night.
The award was presented to Cemex after five months of deliberation by PMAP committees and the board of judges, which included screening and site visits. The cement manufacturer was praised for its dynamic people management approach and Cemex Cares programme. The latter incorporates comprehensive HR initiatives and services that focus on enhancing employee engagement and achieving an increasingly vibrant and progressive corporate culture.
“As we continue to grow as a building solutions provider, we also grow with our people. Our employees are the organisation’s enablers, leaders, and future makers. This award is dedicated to the men and women of our APO cement plant who uphold the company’s culture of excellence,” said Pedro Palomino, President of Cemex in the Philippines.
“We keep innovating our HR programs, always trying to enhance the employee experience. More than just being an employer, we strive to create a family employee experience,” added Maria Virginia, Vice President of Human Resources of Cemex in the Philippines.
