Pakistan’s Bestway Cement Limited has held the inauguration ceremony for its 6 MW and 7.5 MW waste heat recovery (WHR) plants at its Hattar and Farooqia operations.
Bestway Cement, which recently acquired Lafarge Pakistan, invested some Rs.1.7 billion in the plants and reportedly plants to invest US$30 million in the newly acquired Pakcem Limited, including the installation of a 9.8 MW WHR plant at its Kallar Kahar facility later this year. WHR reduces the company’s reliance on external power sources. It installed its first WHR system – a 15 MW plant – at its Chakwal plant in 2011.
Bestway Cement is Pakistan’s largest cement producer with 8 million tpy cement capacity.
