Khutul Cement and Lime wins state award

World Cement,
Khutul Cement and Lime JSC of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, has been awarded the State Gerege, recognising the company’s contribution to national development. In an interview with The UB Post, the company’s Executive Director, G. Batdorj, thanks his colleagues and the investors for their support, saying it was a collective effort.
The company opened a new plant in May 2014, with the projected capacity of 1 million tpy. Since opening, it has produced 350 000 t of cement. With this new capacity, the plant is able to replace 50 – 60% of imports and it is in negotiations with investment banks over the possibility of opening a second plant with 2 million t capacity.
