FLSmidth receives large order for cement plant in India

FLSmidth has been awarded a contract for plant electrification and control system from Vicat-Sagar Cement Pvt Ltd for their green field cement plant located at Chatrasala, in southern India.

The order includes supply of switchyard, power- and distribution transformers, medium voltage distribution system, low voltage distribution system including intelligent motor control centers, motors, frequency drives, plant-wide control system and field instrumentation.

"The choice of FLSmidth as supplier of this equipment illustrates the strength of our totally integrated plant electrification- and control systems concept which includes advanced engineering and project delivery capabilities – backed by process knowledge with technological leadership," Group Executive Vice President Bjarne Moltke Hansen comments.

Vicat-Sagar Cement Pvt Ltd is a 51 - 49 joint venture between Vicat, a French cement producer and Sagar Cement, an Indian regional cement producer. Sagar is already operating a cement plant with two production lines in Andhra Pradesh in southern India where FLSmidth has supplied a complete plant automation system, including robot based laboratory systems.

Molins announce first quarter results
