Nick Miller has been appointed as the new CEO of Adelaide Brighton Ltd. He will succeed previous CEO Martin Brydon.
Brydon announced his intention to retire this year at Adelaide Brighton’s AGM in May, allowing for a smooth and orderly succession. Brydon has since agreed to extend his retirement plans for Miller’s expected start no later than April 2019. In this time, Brydon has committed to remaining with Adelaide Brighton to ensure business continuity as the company transitions to new leadership.
Most recently, Miller was Managing Director and CEO of Broadspectrum, before which he was Managing Director of Fulton Hogan, a large resource-based contractor specialising in construction materials, infrastructure services, and civil construction activities across Australia and New Zealand. He held this latter role for eight years. Miller has extensive industry experience, having held leadership positions at major regional infrastructure and construction service providers, with a track record of delivering strong business performance throughout a 25 year career.
“The board is delighted to appoint Nick Miller as CEO of Adelaide Brighton, following a thorough executive search process that included a strong field of both internal and external candidates,” said Zlatko Todorcevski, Chairman of Adelaide Brighton. “Nick is an outstanding leader offering the ideal mix of commercial expertise, operational excellence, and strategic insight. We are particularly pleased to have such an experienced CEO joining Adelaide Brighton to lead the company’s continued delivery on its strategy.
“When Martin takes his retirement next year, he will leave the company in a very strong position, following more than 30 years of service, including almost five years as CEO. On a personal note, I’ve very much enjoyed working with Martin. On behalf of Adelaide Brighton’s staff, its shareholders, and its board, I wish Martin all the best. We have benefitted greatly from his leadership over the past few years and also during this most important transition period.”
Adelaide Brighton is a leading group of companies producing construction materials and lime. The company supplies the Australian infrastructure, building, and resources industries.
