Christian Pfeiffer wins EPC contract in Malaysia

According to reports, Malaysia’s Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd has contracted Christian Pfeiffer Maschinenfabrik GmbH to design and build a new 1 million tpa cement grinding plant. The EPC agreement was reportedly signed on Monday for a total RM156 million. The plant will begin construction next month, with the aim of starting cement production within 18 – 21 months.

The new grinding plant will comprise a ball mill, a high efficiency separator, two 10 000 t concrete silos and a 3000 bag/hour packing machine. In addition, a palletiser, automated truck loader and a 4-line bulk loader are included in the plans. The contract with Christian Pfeiffer includes engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning of all equipment and related works. The plant will be integrated with the adjoining clinker production line.

The addition of the new grinding plant will bring the company’s total capacity to 2.75 million tpa.
