Mechel and Jidong sign coal supply agreement

Mechel will supply coal to one of China’s leading cement producers under a new long-term coal supply contract. The agreement with Jidong Cement will see the Russian mining company supply up to 3 million t of thermal coal from its Elga and Neryungrinsky mines.
“Jidong Cement is out long-standing and strategic partners in Asia and we aim to continue our long-term and mutually profitably partnership,” said Mechel’s CEO, Oleg Korzhov.
The new agreement continues an existing partnership between Mechel and Jidong Cement, which is the largest foreign consumer of Mechel’s coal.
