Lucky Cement lends a helping hand to flood victims

World Cement,

Lucky Cement, Pakistan’s largest cement manufacturer came forward and donated generously for the relief of displaced people affected from the recent floods in Sind.

A comprehensive and timely relief operation was launched by the company, which catered to areas of the interior Sind.

Relief bags, containing goods such as rice, sugar, pulses, tea, potable water, medicines, mosquito nets and blankets were distributed to over 6000 families across the devastated province. A team of Lucky Cement’s employees and associates personally went to the flood-affected areas and distributed the relief items.

In addition to the above intervention, Lucky Cement also generously supported and donated a handsome amount to All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) for the relief efforts as a separate project.

Lucky Cement has always been at the forefront in developing local communities. The company also played a role in the flood relief activities last year and in the relief effort for earthquake victims in 2005.

In a recent statement, the company pledged to stand by “the side of fellow Pakistanis in these difficult times and … to continue working for their relief and rehabilitation.”
