Dalmia Cement enters Jharkhand market
Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd is increasing its presence in eastern India through the 2.1million tpy Bokaro cement plant. The Indian cement manufacturer has announced that the plant will enable it to serve the market in Jharkhand, as well as Bihar and Bengal.
The Bokaro plant will produce Portland slag cement (PSC) under the Dalmia Cement brand name. The entry into new markets forms part of Dalmia’s plans to expand its pan-Indian presence. It currently has a strong foothold in the south, east and northeast of India and expects its capacity to reach 24 million tpy by the end of FY15.
“Bokaro cement plant is being benchmarked to global thresholds of manufacturing excellence in producing Portland Slag Cement (PSC) under Dalmia Cement brand name. Eastern India is a highly promising market with sufficient cement demand. With our state-of-the-art plant at Bokaro, we will ensure seamless cement delivery across Jharkhand, Bengal and Bihar,” said Mr Amandeep, Business Head and Director, BoJCL.
