World Cement,

Eagle Cement Corp. has ordered a Loesche vertical roller mill for its cement plant in Barangay, San Ildefonso, in the Philippines. The order is the first for the Düsseldorf-based equipment supplier from Eagle Cement.

The mill will be installed on Line 3 at the plant and is designed for grinding coal and petcoke with a capacity of 54 tph of mixed coal or 34 tph petcoke. Coal will be ground to a fineness of 12% reside at 90 μm, while petcoke will be ground to a fineness of 3% residue at 90 μm.

According to Loesche, the new mill operates at a lower differential pressure, resulting in lower energy consumption than other solutions. Other advantages include a good price-performance ratio and “close customer contact developed over years”.

The scope of supply also includes an LSKS classifier and corresponding filters, blowers, and inertisation unit, the gas analysis system and main drives. All components are to be delivered by the end of the year.

The Barangay plant is located 50 km north of the capital, Manila. It has been operating since 2010.
