Bosowa to build a new cement plant in Indonesia

According to local reports, business group Bosowa Corporation are planning to build a US$123.92 million cement plant in Cilegon, Indonesia, with a production capacity of 1.5 million tpa. Construction is due to begin in 1Q14 and is due for completion at the end of 2015. The project will be funded by a combination of loans from local and foreign banks and internal cash.
The company is also currently constructing a US$83.82 million cement facility in Banyuwangi, East Java, with a production capacity of 1.5 million tpa. The plant is due for completion in 3Q14 and will supply the markets of East Java, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara. Furthermore, Bosowa’s 1.8 million tpa cement plant in Makassar, South Sulawesi, is reportedly due to begin operation later this month.
Through its subsidiaries, PT Semen Bosowa Maros and PT Semen Bosowa Indonesia, the company has gained a strong position in the Indonesian cement industry.
