New pan-India web platform for cement launched
India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched a new website to serve as a platform for construction material suppliers and customers. The website, INAM-Pro, has been developed to enhance cement orders, supply and delivery. Both cement producers and buyers will be able to track orders online, as well as submit suggestions and complaints. It is hoped that the site will help cement manufacturers to respond to market demand, adjusting production volumes, delivering schedules and pricing accordingly.
The web portal aims to expedite infrastructure projects, whilst ensuring cost effectiveness and increasing transparency. India plans to improve its road and highways infrastructure, and has shifted its focus from bitumen roads to concrete.
According to local press, some 36 cement companies comprising 103 plants have signed up to participate in the new site.
