Steppe Cement revenues jump in 2017

Kazakh cement producer, Steppe Cement recorded a 20% increase in revenue in 2017, according to a company update, boosted by increasing sales volumes and prices. The company ended the year with revenues of KZT21.433 billion, well ahead of the KZT17.942 billion reported in 2016.
Sales volumes were also up by 4% to 1.63 million t, while prices rose 15% on the previous year.
Kazakhstan consumed 9 million t in 2017, steady with 2016. Steppe Cement’s local market share remained stable at 17%, while its exports doubled to 0.146 million t. Total Kazakh exports stood at 0.9 million t, compared to 0.7 million t of imports.
