Dalmia celebrated one year of operations in the North East
Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd recently celebrated one year of operations in the North East. The company launched its operations in 2013, with Mary Kom announced as the brand ambassador for the company in the region. The anniversary event was held at the Spring Valley Resort in Sonapur, India, and was attended by 400 guests including sales promoters, customers, key dealers, employees and partners.
M.C. Kini, Dalmia’s Chief Executive Officer – North East, told guests that operations in the region have played a pivotal role in sustaining growth and signifying best-in-class quality and strength. The company is the only brand to have achieved over 1 million t of sales in a first year of operations in the North East. Dalmia also received several awards during the year, including the Effective Use of Marketing Communication Award for HALC (Higher Alite Low Celite) campaign in the North East and the Emerging Brand North East Award at the Global Brand Excellence Awards 2013 in Mumbai.
New terminal for Ambuja Cement
Ambuja Cement has launched a new, fully automatic 1 million tpa capacity terminal in Mangalore, India. Ambuja Cement’s Deputy Managing Director and CEO, Ajay Kapur, told local press that the launch of the new facility meant that Ambuja bulk cement terminals (BCTs) are now in operation in all states along the west coast.
The terminal in the port city of Mangalore will allow the company easier access to imported cement and enhance the company’s influence in the southern region of the country. Furthermore, having a common vessel for Mangalore and Cochin BCT will reduce logistics costs.
