World Cement,

The Lafarge Group in the Philippines will provide €1 million in relief supplies, logistical services, affordable housing services, and cash donations to support recovery efforts for the devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda. Furthermore, employees from the Group's five cement plants, aggregates quarry, grinding station, terminal, depots, and the corporate offices volunteered food and clothing to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

The typhoon had a devastating effect on housing in the region and Lafarge Philippines has plans with key partners, such as Gawad Kalinga and Habitat for Humanity, to prepare for rebuilding and reconstruction. The company will also participate in the provision of water from its Danao plant and relief supplies.

Don H. Lee, President of Lafarge Holdings Philippines Inc., said, “With Lafarge Republic's industrial cement operations having restarted in Danao, Cebu, this year, our employees, contractors, and customers were fortunate to have avoided any significant impact of the typhoon. Having confirmed the safety and welfare of our people, Lafarge Philippines is now focusing on providing immediate support to the relief and recovery efforts in our surrounding communities.”
